Boise River Rollers
The Boise River Rollers is the B team of Treasure Valley Roller Derby. The team is made up of skilled and dedicated skaters who train alongside the All-Stars. The Boise River Rollers bring their own unique flair and energy to the track, with a mix of experienced veterans and up-and-coming skaters who are eager to compete. The Boise River Rollers have several games throughout the year.

Abra Cadaver, hailing from Vanderbijlpark, South Africa, has an intriguing backstory behind their chosen derby number, 206. This number reflects the total number of bones in the human body, showcasing their fascination with anatomy and the macabre. As a stay-at-home mom, Abra Cadaver takes care of their son, Harrison, while immersing themselves in the world of roller derby. However, their connection to the realm of death and investigation goes beyond their derby persona. In the past, Abra Cadaver worked at the coroner’s office as a forensic technician, where they played a crucial role in assisting with autopsies. This unique background adds a distinct perspective to their derby journey, intertwining their passion for roller derby with their previous experiences in the forensic field.

Babe Ruthless
Babe Ruthless #3, hailing from Beaverton, Oregon, began her roller derby journey in Corvallis with the Sick Town Derby Dames. After completing a few boot camps, she earned her spot on the Fresh Meat team. Soon after relocating to Boise, she found her way to TVR and couldn’t be happier with her decision. Babe Ruthless is excited about the opportunity to improve her skills and be a part of such an awesome team. As a paraprofessional currently pursuing a graduate degree in Administration, she doesn’t have any pets of her own but takes great pleasure in showering attention on everyone else’s furry companions. Her love for outdoor activities knows no bounds, with camping, paddleboarding, and hiking ranking among her top favorites. In addition, she finds solace in reading, particularly as a big fan of Stephen King’s works, and challenging herself with puzzles. With a family that shares a deep passion for baseball, one of her all-time favorite movies is “The Sandlot,” which provided the inspiration for her roller derby name, Babe Ruthless.

Craze
Craze #7 discovered the Auburn Outlaws boot camp in 2019 and hasn’t stopped practicing since. She found derby was the one sport you always learn new moves, strategies, rules and it never gets boring. The roller derby community is the part where we all push each other around and give hugs when we meet up off the rink. Craze has 1 BSU graduate who lives in Austin, Texas and 1 BSU junior that loves her mom’s crazy competitiveness. 28 years selling Technology with passion, makes derby a true outlet for fun and exercise.

Crescent Wench
Crescent Wench #28, originally from Aurora, CO, brings a unique perspective to roller derby. Despite having two decades of experience on inline skates, Wench had never tried quads until diving into the world of roller derby. As an Electrical Engineer, Wench’s knack for making and building things aligns perfectly with her derby journey, making the choice of her derby name, Crescent Wench, feel fitting. Intriguingly, Wench hints at deeper layers to her story, suggesting that it’s a tale best shared in person, adding an air of mystery and curiosity to their persona.

CupQuake #12 is from Ely, Nevada and had never even seen roller skates before joining Treasure Valley Roller Derby. Through the new skater program, she was able to learn how to be a strong team player. CupQuake works as a Patient Access Specialist for Cardiology and is a proud dog-godmother of Chassi, who is Mega Hurtz’s favorite creature. CupQuake chose her derby name because it’s a combination of cute and semi-threatening, a bit of sugar-coated chaos

Deviled Meg
Deviled Meg #666, from Farmington Hills, Michigan, fulfills a childhood dream by venturing into the world of contact sports, marking Meg’s first year in roller derby with sheer delight. When not on the derby track, Deviled Meg serves as a volleyball coach, imparting her passion for sports to others. Outside of her athletic pursuits, she finds solace in basking in the sun, diving into books, and unleashing her creativity. Her choice of derby name, Deviled Meg, reflects a playful pun using her name while remaining suitable for sharing with their students as she returns to teaching. The incorporation of the number 666 adds a devilishly fitting touch to their persona.

Lulu Kapowski
LuLu Kapowski #101 from Vista, CA is excited to be a new member of TVRD while continuing to participate with Antique Roll Show, although she is still a bit salty about not being able to use their original name, Geritol Mafia. In addition to skating, LuLu is a program coordinator and musician. She also has a pet leopard gecko named Gary. Her derby name is an homage to her family’s naval service, and her original number was MK101, which was an unstable airdropped nuclear depth charge nicknamed the LuLu. In her free time, she volunteers regularly with the Idaho Humane Society.

Paige Against the Machine
Paige Against the Machine #22 is originally from Emmett, Idaho. She joined TVRD’s new skater program in July 2022 and played in her first tournament in October of the same year. Paige is happy that she joined the team as she has learned lots of new skills and made many new friends. She works as a bartender and has a Mini Doodle mix named Oscar, a schnauzer mix named Benji, an aquatic turtle named Steve, and four fish friends. Paige’s derby name comes from the recommendation of one of her old coworkers. Although she wanted to think about it at first, on her way to her first practice, Rage Against the Machine was playing on the radio, and she felt like it was meant to be.

Pippi Longblocking
Pippi Longblocking, representing Boise, embarked on their roller derby journey with the new skater program in the summer of 2022, only a few weeks after stepping onto skates for the very first time. The number 967 holds special significance for Pippi, as it represents the birth months of their beloved pets: Tito, Birch, and Ira. When not honing their derby skills at practice, Pippi finds solace in reading and exploring the great outdoors, often accompanied by their loyal companion, Birch. Inspired by the whimsical character from the famous book series, Pippi Longblocking chose their derby name as a reminder to embrace life’s joys and not to take things too seriously.

Rainbow Rage
Rainbow Rage #25 finds immense fulfillment in the camaraderie fostered within TVR, provided them with more lifelong friendships than they’ve experienced throughout her entire time in Idaho. Beyond her roller derby pursuits, Rainbow Rage manages the Boise Farmers Market, showcasing her organizational skills and community involvement. Her home is filled with the love of three furry companions: Charles, an 11-year-old husky lab mix; Aries, a 1-year-old German Shepherd Aussie Shepherd; and George, a little orange tuxedo tabby cat who holds the title of everyone’s #1 fan. Outside of work and caring for her pets, Rainbow finds joy in skiing, kayaking, skating on the greenbelt, and attending live concerts and drag shows. The choice of their derby name, Rainbow Rage, holds significant meaning, representing her queer identity and the frustration she feels living in a state that enacts legislation against the queer community. She channels this rage into healthy outlets like roller derby, with “Rainbow” reflecting their favorite color and their zodiac sign, and “Rage” referring to her sign, Aries, adding a playful twist to their persona.

Slam Shady #602 is originally from Phoenix. They’re known for winning the “On the Lam” award in the Sirens/Outlaws showdown during the TVRD 2023 Home Teams Season. Slam works as an architectural CADD tech when not on the track. Their furry companion is a cat named Gandalf. In their free time, Slam enjoys exploring their creative side through watercolors and ceramics. They also have a passion for collecting CDs and thrifting for kitschy home decor.

Violet Nightmare
Violet Nightmare #094, originally fro, Kuna, Idaho, brings two decades of skating experience to the roller derby arena. As a sous chef, she navigates the kitchen with skill and precision. Outside of her culinary pursuits, Violet shares her home with a cockatoo and a uromastyx lizard, adding a touch of exotic flair to her life. In Violet’s free time, she indulges in a variety of hobbies, including making music and tinkering with electronics and mechanics. Her derby name and number, Violet Nightmare #094, pay homage to their favorite Pokémon, Gengar, infusing their persona with a hint of whimsy and nostalgia from the gaming world.

What the Duck
What the Duck, based in Boise, proudly completed the new skater program and successfully drafted onto the team in the same year. As someone who had never spent any time on skates before, this accomplishment holds immense significance for them. Beyond their roller derby pursuits, What the Duck works as a front office coordinator for a home theater company. They have two beloved pets in their life – Guy, a sweet golden retriever, and Snake, an orange cat. Outside of their derby and professional life, What the Duck finds joy in caring for plants and indulging in reading, particularly murder mystery novels that capture their attention. It was through their friend Sam (Psycho SAMatic) that they stumbled upon roller derby, and the league helped them select their derby name, drawing inspiration from Duck’s last name. While their initial goal with the new skater program was to gain comfort on skates, their passion for roller derby has only grown stronger with each practice session.
